Dr. Toor has a Ph.D. in histology from Washington State University with over 20 years of experience teaching histology at various universities spanning Pakistan, Jordan, and the USA. His post-doctoral training in cytogenetic is from Tubingon University, Germany and Lund University, Sweden and his Fellowship in Cytogenetics is from Columbia University, New York. He has been trained under two pioneers in the field of genetics - Dr. Felix Mitelman and Dr. Dorothy Warburton.
Dr. Toor has travelled to several countries in connection with obtaining training and experience in cytogenetics. He has wide cytogenetic laboratory experience in clinical cytogenetics, cancer cytogenetics, conventional FISH, UroVision, and PathVision. Dr. Toor has participated in the study of chromosome breakages and micronuclei in smokers and in individuals exposed to various industrial pollutants at Columbia University, New York. He has contributed in the improvement of various laboratory techniques and has helped in establishing several cytogenetic laboratories, most notably the cytogenetic laboratory at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital and Cancer Research, Lahore, Pakistan.
Dr. Toor has been with SiParadigm since its inception. He has over 35 years of experience in cytogenetics laboratory development, management and diagnosis with certifications from ASCP(CG) and New York State CoQ.
