Test Description and clinical significance

Disease:
Confirmation of lymphovascular invasion, Primary skin adnexal tumors, Chondrosarcoma, Seminoma, mesothelioma, and in situ germ cell neoplasms

Podoplanin is a 40 kDa, transmembrane, oncofetal, O linked sialoglycoprotein (mucin type) found on lymphatic endothelium, mesothelium and fetal testis (also other cells as indicated below)
D2-40 is a monoclonal antibody that reacts to podoplanin

FFPE/un-stained slides/Fresh tissue in formalin

Stability:
Room temperature

Unlabeled specimen/specimen left unfixed
for extended periods
