The calreticulin gene, called CALR , is responsible for making a protein called calreticulin. CALR mutations represent an important hallmark of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN), especially essential thrombocythemia and primary myelofibrosis.

Storage & Transport
Blood or bone marrow specimens should be kept at room temperature and preferably received within 96 hours of drawing. Samples that are 4 to 7 days old should be refrigerated.
