The thrombopoietin receptor also known as the myeloproliferative leukemia protein or CD110 is a protein that is encoded by the MPL (myeloproliferative leukemia virus) oncogene. Specific mutations to this gene are associated with myelofibrosis and essential thrombocythemia.

1-2 ml EDTA, citrate (ACD) or Heparinized whole blood or bone marrow, Extracted DNA A minimum of 20 μL of DNA with a concentration of 5ng/μL and an OD260/280 ratio of 1.7-1.9 obtained on a spectrophotometer is required

Stability:
96hours/4 to 7 days refrigerated

Unacceptable Conditions:
Unlabeled or improperly labeled samples, Samples older than stability date, Gross hemolysis, Improperly stored DNA.


Storage & Transport

Blood or bone marrow specimens should be kept at room temperature and preferably received within 96 hrs of drawing. Samples that are 4 to 7 days old should be refrigerated. Sufficient quantity of previously extracted DNA is acceptable if stored at appropriate temperature (short term at 2–8oC or long term at -15 to -25 oC) and should be transported on ice.
